    The Northwest Edition Models are most commonly used in colder climates where air conditioning would not be necessary. Equipped with a diesel forced air heater, and downrigger plugs and pads.

    The Ranger Tugs R-31 S (Sedan) shares many of the features and qualities of her smaller sisterships but some notable additions to this larger model make her ideal for extended cruising while still being a trailerable trawler. The builders at Ranger Tugs equipped the foredeck with seating and a table that can be raised or lowered depending on whether the boat is under way or at anchor or dock for entertaining.

    In addition to the foredeck seating, the R-31 boasts a larger cockpit area with wraparound seating utilizing seats that fold out of the gunwale. When not entertaining, seats are folded leaving the cockpit unencumbered.

    The interior layout of the R-31 S features two staterooms—one large island berth forward with en suite head and a midship berth and day head. Those who are familiar with Ranger Tugs models will recognize the galley layout and helm station that maximize interior space. A starboard side door provides easy access from the helm to the side decks so crew can get to the bow for line handling.

    Like all Ranger Tugs, the R-31 S comes essentially turnkey with standard features and equipment intended to make her owner’s experience hassle-free and allow for ease of handling and comfort under way. Standard equipment includes bow and stern thrusters and a Volvo D4 320hp engine that achieves a 16 knot cruise speed.

Additional Prep/DMV Info

Dealer Engine Prep

Dealer Engine Prep is required to validate the warranty and ensure a working engine. Prep includes completing a full Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) checklist, test-run performed in a tank for quality assurance, and re-crating for shipment. Outboards picked up in-store may be stand-alone and no longer in the box or crate.

Pre-Delivery Inspection

Pre-delivery Inspection is required to validate the warranty and includes the necessary services & products used on each new vessel to ensure quality performance prior to delivery.

For rigged vessels: Boat Specialists will install a deep cycle marine battery, rig all steering components, and complete an electrical and systems check. A full system check includes filling the motor with oil, fluids, and fuel, then a test run performed in a tank for quality assurance.

Once everything is tuned and prepared, a sea trial is performed to achieve the ideal RPM-to-top-speed ratio, ensuring the boat gets on plane properly and all systems operate on water. Afterward, full detail is performed on the exterior, deck, and hull to be turn-key ready for the customer.

DMV Registration On Boats and Trailers - For California Residents Only

Boat Specialists will take care of your CA DMV registration including signing a Power of Attorney for each registration. We will mail temporary paperwork with the documents that require the customer's signature. The customer is to sign and return the documents in the envelope provided. Once we have received the paperwork, we will submit all required documents to the DMV to complete registration.
