Boat Specialists Boat Show & Tent Sale Makes a Splash!

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Boat Show & Tent Sale! Over a thousand guests stopped by on Saturday, May 6th, to meet the team, peruse our latest boat lines, participate in boat and outboard clinics, enjoy delicious food and music, and shop our heavily discounted inventory.

Boat Specialists has been a southern California staple for the boating community since 1976 when Don & Mary Ann Potts opened the first inflatables shop in Channel Islands harbor. Since then, the business has grown to encompass an outstanding selection of boats and outboards from top brands, an impressive outfitting and accessories department, and a top-of-the-line service department.

This year, the event showcased stunning inflatable and fiberglass boats ranging in size and application. Guests were invited to hop aboard and experience what boats such as the Zodiac Medline 9, Sea Fox 328, and the new Solara S250 have to offer.

After browsing an impressive selection of outboard and boats in the showroom, guests could take a moment to sit back and sip on a cold margarita while enjoying the live band or mingle with multiple vendors who flew in from across the nation to attend the event. Manufacturer representatives from Torqeedo, Yamaha, Zodiac, Reflex, and more were on hand to show off their newest products, while local boating outfits, Parker Boats and Naos Yachts, showed off a few of their popular boat models.

Throughout the event, our service team held workshops on outboard and inflatable maintenance and an exciting demonstration where two of our largest motors, the Mercury Verado 400hp and Yamaha 425hp, went neck to neck. Both engines wowed the crowd with their sleek builds and powerful performances. In between each workshop, guests were treated to a rare behind-the-scenes look at our service department.

Guests were welcome to browse our new accessories and outfitting department housed in the parts and service building and experience our recently built electronics wall. The outfitting team was standing by to discuss options and services.

Attendees had the chance to win some great prizes through our raffle. Grand prizes included a Highfield Aluminum boat, Honda outboard, Island Packers Adventures, Double Dolphin Cruise, and Char Man Hot Sauce products, to name a few. All proceeds from the raffle benefited the local nonprofit, Humane Society of Ventura County, which was in attendance with a few adoptable dogs. The money from the raffle and bar tip jars raised $1200 to help animals in need throughout Ventura County.

We look forward to bringing the local boating community together for this fun event annually and will see you all next year!
