The Full Fluid Motion Experience Starts Here — Cutwater Boats Coming Soon to Boat Specialists

At Boat Specialists, we've long been proud to represent the Fluid Motion family, showcasing Ranger Tugs and Solara boats at both our Southern and Northern California locations and now, we're excited to take the Fluid Motion experience even further by adding Cutwater Boats to our lineup.

That's right. Cutwater Boats, the acclaimed coastal cruiser brand born from the Fluid Motion family, is now available right here at Boat Specialists. This is more than just adding a new product to our floor. It's the realization of a vision to give our customers access to the entire Fluid Motion world, from the iconic versatility of Ranger Tugs to the sporty appeal of Solara and now the premium fishing and cruising experience of Cutwater, all under one roof.

Why Cutwater Boats Are Unlike Anything Else on the Water

When it comes to finding the perfect cruising boat, there's no shortage of options on the market. But if you're looking for a vessel that was truly built by boaters, for boaters, that combines American craftsmanship, innovative engineering, and a community that stays with you long after you leave the dealership, Cutwater Boats stands in a class of its own.

Built in America, Built to Last

Cutwater Boats is part of the Fluid Motion family, the same family of brands behind Ranger Tugs and Solara Boats. Founded in 2011 and rooted in a family-owned company that dates back to 1958, Cutwater brings decades of boatbuilding expertise to every vessel that rolls out of their six factories in Washington State.

What makes their manufacturing stand out is how vertically integrated the entire operation is. Cutwater builds everything in-house from a barrel of resin and a roll of fiberglass all the way through to upholstery, windows, cabinetry, stainless rails, and stainless parts. There are simply no boatbuilding facilities quite like theirs anywhere in the industry. This level of control over their supply chain means they can maintain an exceptionally high standard for every component that goes into every boat. The result is a 100% fiberglass structure with no wood to rot, no corners cut, and no compromises. Your investment is protected from day one.

Engineering That Performs

Cutwater's performance-focused "Down East" style isn't just about good looks, every hull is designed with purpose. Each boat has a double-stepped deep-V hull that reduces friction, increases efficiency, and gets you up on plane faster all while delivering a smooth, comfortable ride even in choppy conditions. Laminar Flow Interrupters at the bow ensure smooth, positive cornering when you need to make a turn. A keel pad provides stability at high speeds, and the reverse chine pushes water away for a dry ride that keeps everyone on board comfortable.

Loaded With Features That Actually Get Used

Whether you're cruising, entertaining guests, fishing, or hitting the water for a watersports day, Cutwater has you covered without having to add a thing.

Every boat comes loaded with real, practical features designed for real use on the water. Standard equipment includes electric trim tabs, a Fusion stereo system with Bluetooth and USB, LED lighting throughout, a marine toilet with holding tank and pump-out, a freshwater shower with hot and cold water, a microwave, refrigerator and freezer, stovetop, inverter, solar panel with controller, VHF radio, Garmin navigation, electronic shift and throttle control, electric steering, and underwater lights, among many others.

Designed for Easy, Confident Boating

One of Cutwater's core philosophies is making boating accessible and enjoyable for both seasoned mariners and those just getting started. Bow thrusters make docking simple and stress-free. A secure walkaround with handrails running the entire length of the hardtop means you can move around the boat safely. The innovative Secure-Path walkway maximizes interior space while keeping access to the bow easy and safe.

Climate-controlled cabins with 360-degree visibility, Clear-Path swim platforms, bimini tops, aft cockpit sunshade, and sunset shades all add up to a boat that genuinely lives as well as it performs. The industry-first outboard dinghy lift even allows you to carry a full-size dinghy on an outboard boat, a game-changer for cruisers who want to explore beyond the anchorage.

Trailerable Freedom

One of Cutwater's most practical advantages is trailability. Their 8'6" beam models are trailerable without a permit, while 10' beam models require only a standard wide-load permit. This opens up an entirely different style of boating with the freedom to easily reach distant waterways, skip costly moorage fees, and take your boat wherever the adventure leads.

A Community Like No Other

Buying a Cutwater isn't just buying a boat-it's joining one of the largest and most active boating communities in the country. The Factory Rendezvous on the Washington Coast is the largest rendezvous in North America, drawing over 230 boats in 2025. And for new owners, the Factory Delivery Experience offers two full days of on-the-water training with factory personnel so you leave feeling confident and ready to explore.
