Custom Builds
Boat Specialists has been building custom boats for decades. Our custom-built vessels often start life as a blank hull, ready to be completed with center consoles, pilothouses, bolsters, t-tops, or any hull configuration desired by the client. Specially configured and fabricated trailers are available to accompany the hull. Once the hull is complete, in-house designed fuel, electrical, plumbing, and other boat systems are installed to prepare the boat for rigging. Our custom boats can be rigged with anything from a basic powertrain to state-of-the-art equipment.
After the boat is up and running with the systems and rigging, we plan out and install electronic packages suited to the use of the boat. Specialty electronics include forward scanning sonar, cameras, lighting, sirens, ais transceivers, digital switching, radar, comm devices, solar power, stereos, and more… all with the potential to be data integrated for seamless use with the client's chosen instrumentation and displays.
To finish the boat, we can supply and equip the vessel with mission-specific equipment such as tank storage, windlasses, decking, surf racks, baitwells, search and rescue equipment, handheld comm devices and lights, EPIRBs, and more! At the end of the process, clients can be assured that their boat, custom built to meet their every need, will exceed their expectations when built by Boat Specialists!

Pilothouse Zodiac 750 w/ Twin Yamaha 150
The one-off custom pilothouse and bolster was built in-house on a bare hull by our professional fiberglass team. Our rigging team mounted custom jack plates to accommodate the longer shaft twin Yamaha outboards in order to utilize counter rotating props. Our outfitting team completed with the build with a full accompaniment of specialty Electronics including forward scanning sonar by Garmin, remote controlled LED searchlight by ACR, PA/siren by Whelen, thermal camera by FLIR, charging options by ScanStrut. Custom fabricated hardware added to the boat include samson tow posts, rope-guard, stern bench seat, and folding jump seats creating seating for up to 10 people that can be removed or stowed for maximum deck space.
The Boat Specialists also provided some basic safety, docking, and trailer supplies including fire extinguishers, fenders, throw rope bags, flares, dock lines, and more.
Adventure-Spec Pilothouse Zodiac 850 w/ Twin Yamaha 200
This thrill seeking adventure boat was custom build off a bare hull, in-house, to be featured in boat shows and publications, which it was. Her new owner had additional outfitting completed to get her ready for any undertaking. Twin Yamaha 200HP inline 4-cylinder outboards with digital controls propel this vessel to over 55 mph while keeping fuel use reasonable and extending the range further than larger motors would allow, without sacrificing too much performance. The boat is outfitted with a custom stainless steel roof rack that provides a place to carry kayaks, SUPs, surfboards and more while also mounting the Raymarine radome, 165w solar panel, and automatic anchor light.
Other special features include a custom tow/mooring eye, freshwater rinse down with an on-board tank, Turbo Swing water sports tow bar, dual Armstrong swim ladders, and a raw water rinse system. The heart of the electronics package is a chartplotter, radar, communications, and thru-hull transducer by Raymarine with a NMEA data integration network. Accessory electronics include a massive stereo system with LED speaker light rings by Memphis Audio, 1500-watt Inverter, OceanLED underwater lighting, and Aqua Signal lighting throughout. There are many other small details throughout the build that we don’t have room to mention but it all adds up to one incredible rig!
