The Mercury 300XXL is a 300hp Verado four-stroke outboard with Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS), electric start, power trim and tilt, and a 30" ultra long shaft, weighing 620 lbs. Built for offshore center consoles, dual consoles, walkarounds and other large boats, in single or multi-engine setups. As an authorized Mercury dealer, Boat Specialists sells it new with the full Mercury 3-year factory warranty, after our factory-qualified technicians test-run it.
Mercury's Verado outboards are built for premium performance and refinement. The 4.6-liter V8 powerhead delivers strong acceleration and top speed, and Mercury's Advanced MidSection (AMS) and under-cowl noise management keep it exceptionally smooth and quiet.
Mercury 300XXL Key Features
Exceptionally Smooth & Quiet: The Advanced MidSection (AMS) moves engine mounts aft and outward to virtually eliminate vibration. Engine noise is minimized by a tuned multi-chamber air intake, fuel-injector covers that decrease high-frequency noise and a highly engineered cowl sealing system.
Effortless Operation: Verado outboards come standard with SmartCraft® Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) for ultra-smooth shifting, instantaneous throttle response, as well as electro-hydraulic, automotive-style power steering that provides precision handling.
Adaptive Speed Control: Adaptive Speed Control on V8 Verado outboards automatically maintains the set rpm even as load or conditions change, with no adjustments to the throttle lever position – a first for the outboard industry.
Advanced Sound Control: Change the exhaust tone of a V8 Verado outboard with industry-exclusive Advanced Sound Control. The dual muffler system allows users to toggle between an ultra-quiet mode and a deeper, sportier tone.

$560 Dealer Engine Prep - Our factory-qualified technicians perform a full test run of your new outboard by unpacking it and connecting it to the rigging, fuel, battery, and a diagnostic computer. We run the motor up to operating temperature and test every function to make sure your new motor is working just as it should. The manufacturer's required inspection checklist is completed and submitted to the manufacturer to validate the warranty.

Do I need a short or long shaft?
Measure your transom from the top edge straight down to the bottom of the hull: about 15" calls for a short shaft, 20" for a long shaft, 25" for an extra-long shaft, and 30" for an ultra-long shaft.
