Mercury ProKicker outboards are built as kicker motors: for precise trolling speed control, to give your main engine a break, or as a reliable backup. The 9.9 ProKicker has Mercury's Command Thrust heavy-duty gearcase and a high-thrust four-blade propeller for strong trolling control, and power-tilt models drop into the water in about five seconds.

Do I need a short or long shaft?
Measure your transom from the top edge straight down to the bottom of the hull: about 15" calls for a short shaft, 20" for a long shaft, 25" for an extra-long shaft, and 30" for an ultra-long shaft.
