The Tohatsu BFT250DK1UDA is a 250hp four-stroke outboard with drive-by-wire controls, electric start, power trim and tilt, and a 30" ultra long shaft. Built for larger center consoles, offshore boats and twin-engine setups. As an authorized Tohatsu dealer, Boat Specialists sells it new with the full Tohatsu 5-year warranty, and our factory-qualified technicians test-run every new motor before delivery.
The 250hp has a large-displacement 3.6 liter narrow V6 for top performance, durability and fuel economy, plus a high-output 90 amp alternator (60 charging amps). It's Tohatsu's most powerful four-stroke outboard. A redesigned exterior improves corrosion resistance and protection against water intrusion. The latest DK1 version also reintroduces the O2 sensor with a revised cooling water path for better reliability, and makes routine maintenance easier with a new dipstick handle, oil filter flange and two-piece mid cover.

$560 Dealer Engine Prep - Our factory-qualified technicians perform a full test run of your new outboard by unpacking it and connecting it to the rigging, fuel, battery, and a diagnostic computer. We run the motor up to operating temperature and test every function to make sure your new motor is working just as it should. The manufacturer's required inspection checklist is completed and submitted to the manufacturer to validate the warranty.

Do I need a short or long shaft?
Measure your transom from the top edge straight down to the bottom of the hull: about 15" calls for a short shaft, 20" for a long shaft, and 25" for an extra-long shaft, and 30" for an ultra-long shaft.
